A visit to the farm
The journey to Schep Dairy & Cheese Farm is an experience in itself. As you drive down a narrow country road through the Zuidbroekse Polder, you are surrounded by the serene beauty of the Dutch countryside. Upon arrival, you are welcomed by the sight of black-and-white dairy cows, vast green fields, and modern farm facilities.
The farm is committed to sustainability, featuring thousands of solar panels on the barn roofs. A standout feature is the Hay Barn, which serves as both a functional structure and a scenic meeting space with breathtaking views over the polder landscape.
Visitors often make a special trip just to explore the Farm Shop, where they can purchase freshly made farm cheese and other dairy products. Whether you are a cheese enthusiast or simply curious about traditional cheese-making, the Schep family loves to share their passion for dairy farming and sustainable production.
Additional farm locations
In 2020, the farm expanded with a second location in Stolwijk, called Benedenheul. This farm is home to 120 dairy cows, supported by fully automated milking robots to enhance efficiency while maintaining the highest animal welfare standards.
The Schep family’s calves graze on the lush pastures of Stolwijk and Gouderak, ensuring a natural and healthy upbringing.
With a total of 320 hectares of farmland (equivalent to about 640 football fields) and 600 dairy cows, Schep Dairy & Cheese Farm is one of the most innovative and sustainable dairy farms in The Netherlands.
