Ingredients:
- 2 slices of rustic white or whole wheat bread
- 2-3 slices of Gouda cheese (mild or aged)
- 1 teaspoon butter (optional, for crispier toast)
- A pinch of salt and pepper (optional)
Instructions:
- Assemble the sandwich:
- Place the Gouda cheese between the two slices of bread.
- If using butter, spread a thin layer on the outside of both slices for extra crispiness.
- Grill the sandwich
- In a pan over medium heat, grill the sandwich for about 3 minutes on each side until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Alternatively, use a sandwich press or panini grill for an even crispier texture.
